Are you the proud owner of a GMC vehicle and worried about your key battery running out of juice? Perhaps you’ve already experienced the frustration of a dying key battery and want to know how to replace it yourself? Well, you’ve come to the right place! In this step-by-step guide, we’ll show you how to replace the battery on your GMC key. It’s quick and easy, and you’ll be up and running in no time. So, let’s get started!

Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let’s first understand the type of battery that GMC keys use. GMC keys use a CR2032 battery, which is a small, flat, round battery commonly found in electronic devices. You can buy this battery at any hardware or electronics store for a few dollars.

Step 1: Remove the Keyblade
The first step is to remove the keyblade from the remote. Simply press the release button located on the back of the remote and pull the keyblade out.

Step 2: Separate the Keyfob
Next, use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the keyfob’s two halves. Be careful not to damage the plastic casing. Once the casing is open, you’ll see the battery compartment.

Step 3: Remove the Old Battery
Use the screwdriver to gently lift the old battery out of its holder. Be careful not to damage the holder or any other components in the remote.

Step 4: Insert the New Battery
Now, insert the new battery into the holder with the positive (+) side facing up. The polarity is important, so make sure you insert the battery correctly.

Step 5: Put It All Back Together
Finally, put the two halves of the keyfob together and press them until they click back into place. Lastly, insert the keyblade back into the remote, and you’re good to go!

That’s it! You now know how to replace the battery on your GMC key. It’s a quick and easy process that will save you money and hassle in the long run. Just remember to use the correct battery type, be gentle with the plastic casing, and make sure you insert the new battery with the correct polarity. With our step-by-step guide, you’ll never have to worry about a dead key battery again.
